The LCHS Band and Guard strive to provide quality music education for students of Las Cruces High School; facilitate musical growth for student members and feeders; promote the value of music in both education and our community; foster community and wellbeing between members; and provide leadership opportunities.
The Showcase Band & Guard
Las Cruces High School has been a pillar of educational excellence for over a century. Leaning on that excellence, the LCHS Showcase Band & Guard proudly serves 200+ students in marching band, winter guard, 3 concert ensembles, multiple jazz bands and band fundamentals.
The Showcase Band & Guard constantly achieve excellence in performances being one of the most successful programs in New Mexico for over 50 years.
The Showcase experience goes beyond trophies - students develop leadership skills, learn to work under pressure, and participate in events and moments that help define their high school journey. For us band is not a thing - we are a family.
More than Music
Ask a Showcase Alumni what they remember most and it will rarely be a single performance, It's the early morning rehearsals, the bus rides, the friendships that last well beyond graduation.
The Showcase Band & Guard is built on dedication, accountability and community. Students learn to lead, to listen, to push through when things get hard, to celebrate each other's wins, and build each other up in losses. These lessons serve them well beyond graduation, whether they become professionals in music or something else.
We believe that every student who walks through the band room doors deserves a program that challenges them, supports them, and makes them proud to be a Dawg and learns what it means to say "Once a Dawg, Always a Dawg"!
