Ty Frederick is the Director of Bands at Las Cruces High School where he directs the Showcase Marching Band, Wind Symphony, Jazz Lab and over sees the Showcase Colorguard and Winterguard. He also co-directs the Symphonic Band, Concert Band and Showcase Basketball Band. Prior to his position at LCHS, Mr. Frederick taught in Clovis, NM as an Assistant Director for Clovis High School and Band Director for Marshall Middle School. During his time in Clovis, the bands he worked with saw great success. Mr. Frederick is an avid tuba and trombone player in the community. He has also been a clinician and festival adjudicator in New Mexico. He is a member of NAfME, NMMEA and ITEA as well as a member of the Phi Beta Mu International School Bandmaster Fraternity. In 2019, he served as a member of New Mexico Activities Association State Concert Band Advisory Council. He currently resides in the beautiful Las Cruces area with his lovely wife Liz and two wonderful boys, Ryan and Christian.

Assistant director: Raul Escobedo
Raul Escobedo is thrilled to join the band program at Las Cruces High School! He has been teaching band in Austin, TX for the past 9 years at Lamar Middle School and Fine Arts Academy and is looking forward to relocating to Las Cruces with his family.
In 2006, Mr. Escobedo attended the University of North Texas and graduated in 2010 with a bachelor’s degree in music education. While at North Texas, Mr. Escobedo participated in and taught the Green Brigade Marching Band, as well as performing in many wind ensembles including the Symphonic Band. In 2012, Mr. Escobedo received his master’s degree in tuba performance at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL where he studied with Rex Martin. He had the opportunity to perform with the Northwestern Symphonic Wind Ensemble and the Northwestern Symphony Orchestra. Over the course of his career, Mr. Escobedo has directed and taught many different ensembles including jazz band, symphonic bands, wind ensembles, symphony orchestras, and marching bands.
Mr. Escobedo will be moving this summer with his wife Kaitlin, and his 3 kids, Leo, Rachel, and Milo.
